Brief History

The presence of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians was desired by Mons. Matteo Baroi sdb, the Bishop of Krishnagar who made special request to Mother Ersilia Canta, the then Mother General during one of his visits to Rome. The request of the Bishop was granted and Mother Ersilia contacted Mother Virginia Marchetti the then Provincial through Mons. Baroi asking her to begin a new presence at Kalyani. A house for the sisters was opened in 1981.

Auxilium Convent School, Kalyani, Nadia ,West Bengal was founded in 2013. A co-education English medium school, affiliated with ICSE, New Delhi. The school has classes Nurdery to X. It is established and administered by the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. The Catholic school may also admit other children irrespective of caste and creed. It aims at developing the individual personality of each pupil and bring out those qualities which are best and noblest in them. Lessons on Moral Principle and Conduct are given daily.
